Upcoming Acura Precision EV Concept Preview

In 2024, we can expect to see the release of Acura's first electric vehicle, a sporty and sleek all-electric SUV. Modern aesthetics and clever technological additions ensure that this Acura concept won’t go unrecognized. As Acura embarks on its exciting, electrified future, the Precision EV Concept will serve as the company's guiding light.

Concept

Acura unveiled its Precision EV Concept, a sleek sedan that ushered in the brand's current crop of designs, in January 2016. By reimagining established Acura design cues, the Precision EV Concept for 2024 aims to showcase the adaptability of an electric future. Acura has released its Precision EV Concept to look into the future before releasing its first fully electric SUV in 2024.

With its wide silhouette and well-designed character lines, the Acura Precision EV Concept in Double Apex Blue with a matte finish reflects Acura's commitment to performance. The Precision EV Concept also shows a bit of the Dual Experience idea, which will be used to design the interiors of future Acura cars.

Exterior

Acura created the concept in its design studio in Los Angeles. The Precision EV Concept represents Acura's commitment to performance through design. It takes the design cues from high-end Italian powerboats. An assortment of individual LEDs forms the front fog lights in the bumper corners, which the automaker refers to as a "particle glitch" motif. The 22.8-inch wheels and a set of powerful brakes with calipers painted in yellow go well with the Double Apex Blue's matte paint. The vehicle’s stunning 22.8-inch wheels feature spokes decorated with the same "Particle Glitch" pattern.

The concept has so many typical Acura styling cues that people will recognize it at a glance. The Acura Precision’s futuristic LED design takes on the brand's signature Diamond Pentagon grille. New "Particle Glitch" lighting on the front and rear and the brand's signature "Chicane" daytime running lights are the basis for Acura's future EV design.

Interior

The interior concept of this new vehicle is built for performance, and its design is a perfect example of Acura's vision for an immersive experience that engages the driver's senses. Acura claims that "sustainable, environmentally-responsible materials," such as recycled plastic and 100% biomass leather, were used to construct the cabin. A low-slung driving position, excellent driver sightlines, and a yoke-style steering wheel were all taken directly from the Formula 1 race car cockpit for this design.

The cabin offers two distinct experiences: the relaxing Spiritual Lounge mode and the Instinctive Drive mode, designed specifically for the driver. Then you have a small curved screen in place of the gauge cluster, a wide transparent curved display in the centre, and haptic touch response. This is just a sneak peek at the future of Acura HMI.

Production model

Acura Precision EV isn’t an exact representation of the upcoming production model. However, it provides some clear insight into the design and technological cues that can be anticipated when Acura's first EV offering is released in 2024.
